My name is Wayne Johnson, I’m a Los Angeles/Altadena native and graduate of Art Center College of Design in Pasadena Ca. where I received my bachelors from the Illustration dept., graduating with distinction.
I began doing Illustration starting in theme parks and recreation and slowly rolled into some editorial but frequently worked for TV doing promotional material, set design props, tv ads, commercials and movie posters.
Ive steadily been teaching throughout my illustration career for colleges like Otis in Santa Monica, Art Center College, Brainstorm, Gnomon (currently) and a few private portfolio prep schools early on.
I started off thinking I would be a fine art painter showing my work in galleries but as the economy changed so did my goals. I recently began doing work for tv and animation where I would like to pursue a career in character design. I consider myself to be versatile and someone who enjoys drawing and painting people the most, a traditional oil painter with years of teaching experience in figurative, advanced drawing techniques, perspective, industrial design drawing and landscape painting with gouache.
